Jello and Bubbles

Tate had a little sensory fun the other day.  I made him some Jello to play with.  He thought it was just great!  After he was done he got to take his very first bubble bath.  He also thought that was pretty fun!

He had his 9 month well check yesterday.  He was 23 lbs. 11 oz. and 29.25 inches long.  He falls in the 50-75% of everything.  He was good for the doctor.  His ear infection is no better and he cut a new tooth.  It is a lateral incisor instead of his second front incisor, which I am expecting to come in any day now!  He had fun running errands in town. 

Rocket Man

Last night was terrible. Tate was up every 40 minutes. Most of the times he woke he had outrageous gas. Why has this journey been so difficult? I could not get pregnant, I was super sick when I was pregnant, I had a terrible labor and delivery, Tate screamed for the first three months of life, and now he will not sleep. I still love Tate more than I ever knew was possible but I am ready for something to be easy for once! Look how cute he is in his big boy pajamas! He was less than thrilled about having his picture taken this morning.

Piano Man

Tate spent some time with grandma and grandpa today so I could work on baby proofing. He got to try out the piano.

Ear Infection

The last few days have been exhausting.  We took Tate to the dr. on Friday and he had a double ear infection.  That explains the congestion, coughing, and inability to sleep that had started.  He has not been sleeping well and I am trying my hardest to deal with it myself since Brett is getting up at 3 AM to check the cattle.  I am tired.  Brett is tired.

Between the antibiotic and teething, Tate's tummy is giving him some trouble.  Lots of diaper changes and rash cream!  He was so kind to explode out of his diaper at church!  I guess I didn't really need to hear the gospel. 

He is eating better and still playing away.  He woke up 6 times last night.  The snow has returned along with the wind.  We are getting in full swing with the calving so things are pretty tense.  Here are some pictures from last week that didn't make it up.

Tooth

Someone is working on another tooth.

We survived the snow!  Brett said we got 12-15 inches of snow.  I don't remember it snowing this much since I was a kid.

9 Months

Tate is 9 months old today!  How did another month pass by so quickly?

Your favorite toys are your books, mailbox toy, and your stand and play table.  Since you have learned to crawl you are more interested in everything in the house than your toys.  You like to pull up on everything and are getting more and more bruises all over your body.  You are starting to not be scared each time you fall down.  You have 3 teeth and appear to be close to getting a few more.  You are still not sleeping well at all.  You will only go to sleep if you are rocked.  If we put you to bed awake, you just stand or sit in your crib and CRY!  You will sleep a few hours in your crib and then you spend the rest of the night in the recliner.  You still have a stuffy nose so that might be part of the problem.  You usally sleep for 1.5-2 hours in the morning and an hour in the afternoon.  You are not eating well.  Somedays you will eat baby food and somedays you will not.  You have been on an oatmeal kick lately.  You cannot tolerate any sort of textured foods.  Even applesauce will make you gag and you used to eat it all of the time.  You do like to feed yourself but you are pretty picky about what you eat.  I am worried you are behind on speech because you are more interested in making sound effects than making consonant sounds.  The "da-da" only comes out once in a blue moon.  You are mostly wearing 12 month clothes although you do wear a few 18 month things.  You are still in size 4 diapers.  You are such a fun boy and are full of smiles!  Your little naked journey to the tub is the best part of each day!  You hop with excitement!

Plants

I knew this day was coming soon.  Tate discovered my plants.

We had an adventure yesterday!  I went to the bank and my tire light came on so we got to sit at the COOP for 45 minutes while they patched my tire.  Luckily, they have a little dog that entertained Tate.  Then we headed to Wal-Mart to get some groceries before the big snow.  This weather is crazy!  We didn't even wear our jackets yesterday and today we are supposed to get a foot of snow.  We are NOT happy about the forecast.  We have just started to have our calves and it is going to be very hard to keep the babies alive!  I am hoping our power will stay on so I can keep my baby warm!

Sick Boy

I took these last week when Tate was not feeling well.  He managed to still smile and be happy during the day.  He finally got his first top tooth and I think he is working on another one. He is not sleeping or eating well at all.

Loved

My mom stopped by yesterday after work to give Tate his valentine. He was excited to open another gift! The card came with a sticker that he is wearing on his back today. He is feeling better but still has a runny nose. He also slept a little better and is eating baby food again. He is going a million miles per hour today. I tried so hard to get a good picture of his new outfit from Grandma Joan and Grandpa Mike but he won't sit still long enough. I got caught in my stay at home mom fine attire yesterday! The neighbors popped by and I was still in my pajamas and my hair was a mess. Oops! That will teach me! Today I stepped it up and put on...SWEATPANTS! :)

Valentines

I have the two best valentines a girl could ask for! Not only did Brett deal with Tate all night so I could sleep, he came home for lunch with beautiful flowers! SURPRISE!!! I fell in love with him 7 years ago and love him more now than I ever knew I could! Tate was enjoying his gift until he flipped it up and hit his face. He ended up liking the box more than the new bath toy. Happy Valentine's Day!
