Belly Button

My little neighbor girl came over to watch Tate today so I could go get a haircut.  He cried when I left and continued to cry for a while after that.  Poor babysitter!

Tate had a cookie after supper and he must have taken a chocolate chip from it and put it in his belly button.  We didn't notice until he had a melted pile of chocolate in there!

Cat Carrier

Tate still isn't nice to the cats, despite my MANY attempts to teach him how to pet them gently.

Old Friend

Tate and I went on a little road trip today and I met an old friend for lunch.  She lived on my floor in the dorms many moons ago.  MOORE 8!  She actually lives in Vietnam and teaches English to little kids so I haven't seen her in a long while.  We went to a playground for a while but then it started to rain.  Tate and I grabbed some groceries on the way home and stopped in at my mom and dad's yard to hang out with Brett, who was busy welding.  What a fun day!

Brrr

It was a chilly 51 degrees out this morning when we went to church.  Tate had to wear long pants and a jacket.  I thought he looked too cute but he did not want to cooperate for a good picture.  We had another 1.7 inches of rain last night and it is raining again now.  All of the ponds are full!!!

Pudding

We dropped some cucumbers off at my neighbors' house and ended up spending a great deal of time there this morning.  Tate LOVED the chickens!!  No matter where we went in the yard, he would always walk back to see the chickens.  My neighbors enjoyed seeing Tate!

Tate had some spoon practice and ate chocolate pudding for the first time.  He did very good but then all of the sudden he was COVERED in pudding.  I told him to say "cheese" with his pudding face and he smiled and did it!  So much fun!  Today was a very cool today.  Tate had to wear a jacket outside this morning.  It is raining again right now.

Puddles!

We got another 2.7 inches of rain last night!  Oh my, did Tate enjoy walking through the puddles this morning!  Happy Birthday to my mom!!  She spent the day traveling to Alaska with my dad.  They are going on a cruise.

We entertained my cousin for the past few nights and fed her supper.  She is homeless until her new lease starts in August when she starts vet school.  She is staying with her parents but they were on vacation.  I LOVE ME SOME ANNIE TIME!!

Dentist

I had to go to the dentist today for a cleaning.  My dentist got a sweet new office and it is AMAZING!  He even has iPads on the walls in the waiting room for kids to play with.  I also took my ring to the jewelry store to get resized and plated.  My cousin just so happens to work there so I had fun catching up with her and trying on diamonds!  Then I had to go on a parts run for my dad.  Finally I had to get some groceries.  Tate got to stay with my mom.  When I went to pick him up he was outside with my dad exploring EVERYTHING!  He was having a blast!!  :)  I love to see him so happy!!  It rained another inch last night!  Life is good!

Syrup Boy

I think I gave Tate a little too much syrup on his blueberry pancakes!  He was a sticky mess but he sure loved them!  Not too much going on today.  A bonus picture of the rainbow from the other day. 

Road Trip

My mom, a friend, Tate and I went on a road trip to a quilt shop.  One of my former co-workers watched Tate at her house while we shopped.  I found some cute fabric.  Then we ate at the little café where it took FOREVER to get our mediocre food.  Tate missed his morning nap but held it together the best he could.  It finally rained!!  We got 2.7 inches and had a leak in our basement.  The dehumidifier and fans are going so hopefully things will dry out with no damage.

Ornery

Tate was into EVERYTHING yesterday. He figured out how to open the freezer door on the bottom of the refrigerator. He played with the garden hose for the first time and it was too funny watching him try and take a drink. Too bad I didn't have my camera. He did take a 3 hour nap but 2 of those hours I was laying with him. His diaper rash, crabbiness, and diaper explosion tell me he is working on a tooth.

Somersault

I showed Tate how to do a somersault today and he tried very hard to do one but could not figure it out. I found a snake skin in the yard that was about a foot long. I hope to never find the snake! I ran some cucumbers into the fridge and when I got back outside Tate had picked up a kitty and was carrying it around by its back skin. Good thing it isn't much bigger or else Tate would have been in for a rude awakening. Sorry for the poor photos, it was too dark for the iPad.

Vacation

I'm back!  We just got back from a vacation with Brett's family.  We spent 3 nights at a house along Lake of the Ozarks.  It was a fun trip!  We weren't sure how well Tate would travel so we split the drive up on the way there and stayed in KC and went to the zoo.  Tate did pretty well except for sleeping in the pack and play.  Most nights he ended up with me.  Tate is very fond of his cousins and they always play so well with him!  My motion sick prone body survived the curvy Missouri roads and boat ride.  We made the trip home in one day and stopped to see my friend and her new baby!  I am all caught up on laundry and mostly caught up on weeding the garden!

Life

There was a terrible accident near town in which a grandpa and son-in-law both passed away.  Don't forget to live each day as if it were your last because you never know when it actually might be.  With that being said, I LOVE MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS!  Each and every one of you has a very special place in my heart. 

Tate has ringworm.  I remember why I grew to hate my farm cats when I was little.  I swear if I even looked at a cat I got ringworm.  Bring on the Lotrimin!

Monkey

Tate is climbing on EVERYTHING!

Yesterday he pushed the cooler over to the stove and climbed on top of it.  He is also using his little chair to climb onto the couch.  Today he used his new little kitchen chair to stand on top of his new table.  He keeps me BUSY!  He tried to feed his snack to the little kitty sitting outside the kitchen door.  So precious!

Independence Day

On the 2nd my mom and I went to town to by some fireworks.  We stopped and got a very special gift for Tate.  My former co-workers made Tate a beautiful sock monkey quilt.  We all love it!

On the 4th my brother and his wife came to eat dinner and shoot off fireworks.  Tate pretty much cried after every single one and we left by 8:30.  My family always shot fireworks with my grandma and uncle for as long as I can remember.  Both have since passed away so it was just sad now to shoot fireworks, especially since they made Tate upset.  Hopefully in the years to come we can get the joy and excitement back in our holiday!!

New Stuff

Tate got some new stuff yesterday.  He got a set of blocks and a kid size table and chairs.  He liked them both and is fond of pushing his new chairs around the kitchen.

We got to hang out with my cousin, Beka, today.  Tate got to play on the tractor; play in the grass and rocks; and see the dog, cat, and bird.  He had a great time!

HOLY MOLARS!  Poor guy is miserable and is pretty crabby and needs his momma A LOT! 

P.S. - You might be a redneck if you play outside with your son in just your underwear and slippers! ;)

Tired and Busy

Today was a busy day!  We visited some twins that are just a month old.  It is hard to believe that Tate was that small.  We got a very special gift today.  It is a beautiful sock monkey quilt made by some of my old coworkers from the school.  Then we went and bought fireworks, ate yummy Mexican food, and got groceries.  The only nap Tate took today was in the car on the way home.  He has not been sleeping well again and keeps waking up earlier and earlier.  He was up at 4:00 this morning.  He was in bed by 7:00 tonight so hopefully that helps!

Happy Birthday to Brett's Grandma Maxine!!  Tate is her 25th great-grandchild.

Sprinkler

Tate got to "run" in the sprinkler for the first time.  He wasn't very crazy about it but sure did have fun chasing the animals around the yard!

We finished up cutting all of our wheat today and have a few hours worth of cutting to do for a neighbor and then we are officially finished with 2013 Harvest!!  We rode the combine for most of the afternoon today.  Tate fell asleep but his 30 minute nap in the combine was all he slept all day so he was a giant mess by bedtime!  He woke up at 4:50 and finally went back to sleep around 5:30 and slept in bed with me until 8:30.  I am starting a bad habit and I couldn't even fall back asleep.  YIKES!
