Tate Date

Tate and I had quite a fun day together. We went to town to buy fireworks, eat at McDonald's and go to the water park. Tate had a blast getting fireworks and we ended up with a whole cart full. I had to keep close tabs on him so he didn't put everything in the cart. He is really into fireworks this year and already had to have me light a few when we got home. At McDonald's he told me that I was going to be in his heart forever and kept kissing my hand and arm. My friend and her son met us at the water park. It was awesome!  None of the slides end up in a deep pool so I was able to turn Tate lose and let him do his thing. He loved every single minute!!!  

Park

We only have about 100 acres of wheat to cut but it rained last night so we got to have a Sunday Funday!  After church we went to check out the new park. The girls and I go there nearly every time Tate has school but Tate hadn't seen it yet. He thought it was awesome. It started to rain so we had to leave and get some lunch.  Tate had a little incident at church this morning that involved some nudity. I wanted to crawl into a hole. Hopefully not too many people noticed.  Bottom picture is one my mom took yesterday after Tate and grandpa caught a frog!

Combine

All of the kids and I went for a combine ride with Brett today. Audrey hated it and cried the whole time so we made one circle around the field and got out.  Ellie loved it! Tate stayed with Brett and had a good time. He always loves it when he is on the combine but never wants to leave the house to go.  Audrey is working on a molar and has been grumpy the last few days. The weather was overcast this morning so we took advantage of the cooler temperature and played outside all morning. 

Summer fun

The kids helped make Brett's ice cream birthday cake this morning. We played outside this afternoon. 

Awesome

Today was a great day!  Since it rained on Friday we still couldn't cut wheat and we got to go fishing this morning with my mom, dad, Chris, Anne and Owen. Brett stayed home with the girls. The fish were really biting and my dad couldn't even keep up with getting them all off of our poles. Tate and Owen enjoyed it for a little bit but then had more fun throwing rocks into the pond. Tate went with Brett this afternoon the try to cut wheat. Since Brett's combine was in the shop they got to hang out and play together in the truck. 

Pool

Chris, Anne and Owen are visiting this weekend. They took Tate to the pool this afternoon. Tate was so tired by bedtime that he couldn't see to do anything else but cry. Grandpa is planning on taking the boys fishing in the morning and Tate asked if we could pray that they wouldn't catch a shark. 

Teeth

Audrey got her other front tooth so she has 5 teeth and Ellie just got some more on the bottom so she has 8 teeth. They were stinkers this morning and only wanted to run into the parking lot at the park so we went to the library. They had fun but if we go there too often I can tell they will just pull all the books off the shelves. Brett was having combine issues today. Tate is still doing pretty well with no thumb sucking. He will put his thumb into his mouth sometimes but will always pull it right back out since it tastes so bad. Audrey enjoyed the dirt cake that grandma made for dessert. 

Big

The girls looked so big today at the park while they were having a snack at the table. It was so hot this morning but we lucked out that the air conditioned gym by the park had an activity going on today. Tate wanted the thumb sucking stuff put on his thumb today. Hopefully it will work and he quits. Brett and I tried it and it tastes so bad. I went to a baby shower this evening and the power went out. It was interesting. 

Hi

Ellie has been saying hi once in a while. She still doesn't babble the most but she also tried to say Audrey and Duke today. She has been such a little ham the last few days. The girls did so much better today at the park. They didn't run away as much and listened better. Tate learned about waves at school today and got to listen to the ocean by holding a seashell up to his ear. He usually doesn't have a lot to say about school but today he was so excited to tell us about it. 

Hi

Ellie has been saying hi once in a while. She still doesn't babble the most but she also tried to say Audrey and Duke today. She has been such a little ham the last few days. The girls did so much better today at the park. They didn't run away as much and listened better. He usually doesn't have a lot to say about school but today he was so excited to tell us about it. 

Good

Tate did SO good at church this morning. The girls were wiggly and babbled. We had a birthday party this afternoon. It was fun and Tate did well. He got to ride a pony!  He told me later that it was scary. 

Nap

Tate put himself down for a nap this afternoon and slept for several hours. He was so delightful when he got up. After supper we blew up his little pool and he and Brett played away. Audrey fell and hit her front tooth and it bled. She cried a lot this evening and didn't want to go to sleep. Ellie woke up shortly after 5 and would not go back to sleep.  I gave Ellie her first French braid!

 

Tired

Both of the girls were up twice last night. I took them to the park and the zoo this morning. Ellie really loved the zoo but Audrey was just tired. Tate had a good day at school and was really happy to be able to play with Brett tonight. 

Cutie

Ellie was all full of smiles today. She got a new bottom tooth too. Tate had a rough afternoon. First he got into my thread and then threw his towel into the bathtub. He got sent to bed early.  I did a little survey for Tate and he actually cooperated this time!

Beard

Tate calls all canned beverages BEARD!  He is always more than willing to get me a beard (actually pop) out of the refrigerator. Tate screamed when I left him at school this morning. I decided to take the kids out for supper since we left Tate's cars at the pool yesterday we needed to go get them. Tate had a very hard time following orders at supper. 

Shots

Tate had his well-check and shots today. He did better than I expected at the appointment and played great all afternoon. Then those darn shots finally brought him down. He started limping and crying and wanted to go to sleep right before supper. The girls have runny noses again. Duke rolled in a bunch of cow poop and got a bath!
