Teeth

Tate is working on a couple new teeth. He did not sleep well and was feeling puny. He fought his nap, refused to eat supper and had a hard time going to sleep. Poor guy!  I got him some pediasure to keep him full all night when his mouth hurts too bad to eat but he refuses to drink it. 

Duty

I make sure and do my duty as a mother and take my country loving boy outside even though I despise being cold.  Even though it was only about 35 degrees out there was no wind so we could stay out for nearly an hour and a half. 

Dentist

I got my teeth cleaned this afternoon.  Brett stayed home with Tate. Sounds like they had a grand old time!  Tate had a pretty good day.  I have been trying to get him to make eye contact when he asks for things but it is not going well so far. I tried to make Chinese food for supper and it was not a success. No pictures :(

Goofy

Tate was pretty silly all day.  We had a play date at our house with 4 of Tate's friends. Tate just hung out in the corner and sucked his thumb most of the time. He didn't sleep well so he must have been tired.  After his nap he came out of his room and plopped right down on Brett's lap.

My dad brought us our mail but left right away since Tate didn't seem interested in him. Turns out Tate went to get his paints for grandpa. He even said "where papa go?" and looked around for him.  He also had super eye contact all day.  He mimicked me and clapped and did "knuckles" in the bath!

Silly

This silly boy enjoyed making faces at himself.  He is working on his bottom incisors. He has nasty diaper rash, a runny nose, not eating well, and certainly not sleeping well. Brett is doing a great job on night duty!

I think he looks so much like my grandma in this one.

Fun

We decided to surprise grandma and grandpa with a visit yesterday. We were all having too much fun when Tate got hungry so my mom cooked us all dinner. Tate played so well and especially enjoyed grandma's iPad games. 

Tate had a very good day today. He interacted well and made good eye contact. He came to me and asked for crackers. I heard the boys in the basement making all kinds of silly noises into the vacuum attachment. Tate liked when I told him okie dokie and kept saying it. 

Night

Tate had speech with a new teacher today. He did so well and had the best day he has had in a long time. It was cold so Brett came home extra early so I could get groceries by myself!  I had to stop and get my glasses adjusted too since an ornery boy keeps pulling them off of my face. 

He has been crazy about his monster truck so I got him a spare in town today.  I told him he had 2 monster trucks and he kept saying "2 monsters".  I was also holding up 2 fingers and saying "two" and every time he would get a huge smile and say "three!"  

We were pretending to have his animals to sleep, complete with Tate snores!

Friends

Someone wanted Tate to go out and play. The boys spent a long time outside today before the cold comes back tomorrow. 

20 Months

Tate is 20 months old today. He is such a silly boy. 

We had our appointment with the developmental pediatrician yesterday. His motor skills are great. He is really smart and was doing 30 month old tasks. The doctor did have major concerns about autism like we suspected. He was not diagnosed with anything yet. They are doing a full hearing exam and we have to fill out more forms then we go back in 4-8 weeks. I am eager to schedule the next appointments.  

Tate had a first today and said the word eat. He actually got me and said eat cookies.  He knows a lot of words but can't communicate with us, which is the major concern of the doctor. 

I love my guy so much!!

Cookie Monster

Tate loves Cookie Monster and will say "nom, nom, nom" when he sees him. We had our own little cookie monster today. He really likes reading books right now and did very well with his animal sounds this evening. 

 

Caught

I caught Brett and Tate being super adorable when they were reading!

Meow

When I was little my mom made me a sleeping bag that looks like a cat. I got it out for Tate and he loves it!

Pizza Hut

It is not often we eat out but tonight we drove the 20+ miles to the Pizza Hut. Tate did great. He even made silly faces at a couple in a booth behind us. We had a play date this morning and Tate had fun!

Cookies

I made a bunch of cookies yesterday. My helper liked to pick out all of the chocolate chips. 

Love

We love this guy so much!  His teacher said he is at or above where he needs to be with his vocabulary. He still does not like to use words to communicate his needs though. For the last two days he has been running back and forth to Brett and me and giving us hugs!  

Art

We did a fun project today. I taped freezer paper to the floor. Tate liked to have his body traced.  

Brrrr

It was a cold day!  I woke up and the outdoor thermometer said -2F. Tate was wide awake most of the night. He did very well with animal names and sounds today. He played peek-a-boo with his hands for the first time.

He is starting to make sentences such as "That is a cow."

He said "This corn is hot" a few nights ago. 

Tate woke up all night long so he was out of it until after a long nap. We did a Pinterest project this morning where we used a dropped to put dyed vinegar into a dish of baking soda. Tate thought it was loads of fun.
