Happy

Tate was very happy today. 

Well, except when I gave him a haircut he cried. Oh and then I would not let him nap in the new deck box we assembled and he was mad. He was very upset he had to take a nap. I should also add he cried a fair bit when my new bicycle fell over on him while we were assembling it. Finally, he really lost it when he fell over in the laundry basket and bit his bottom lip. 

He really was happy most of the day and we really do supervise him. He was super wound up this evening!

Basket

Doughnut

Brett had some repairs done to his pickup and we took him to bring it back home first thing this morning. The little grocery store in town makes the best doughnuts. Mmmmm they were so fresh! Tate was silly today. He wanted to play monster (mom chases Tate with blanket on her head) all day and kept bringing me a blanket. I held up the Mr. Potato Head mustache one time and made a funny laugh. Now Tate loves to do it. "Mustache!  Ha. Ha."  He also told me he wanted to bake McQueen cookies and said "I got a star."

Play Group

I took Tate to a new play group today. It is a monthly event in the early childhood center gym. It had a lot of kids and all sorts of awesome stuff with which to play. Tate was not upset by all of the kids but he kept lining up all of the cars they had in a tub. I think it was calming him down. He was the only kid who did not want to sit and fill and decorate plastic eggs. He was also the only kid who did not want to sit for a snack. He did notice the other kids a little bit and even tried to ride a flat gym scooter on his belly like a bigger kid was doing. He tried to play with the big kids on the climber but he was just knocking over the cones they had set up. They were yelling at him, telling hi to leave. I scooped him off the climber and he told me "Sorry, Mama!"  It made me very sad!  It was a good experience for Tate and we will go back next month if we can!  He was super cute tonight. He was rolling around in his bed while giggling. Then he thought he needed every blanket he could find. I piled them all on top of him. He thought that was hilarious!!  As I was putting him in bed he told me he was tired.

Long Day

We went on a road trip today! Tate love Cabela's. Then we visited handsome Mr. Owen. I got in a few snuggles and Tate got to inspect him up close. He was way more interested in tormenting Willie the dog than he was in Owen. Owen just wanted to eat the whole time. It was nice enough to play outside when we got home. Tate pretended to put his pirate down for a nap in the bathtub. This is my favorite stage so far!!!

Found You

I was trying to teach Tate how to play hide and seek. He loved it and did pretty well!  He didn't fully understand the concept of hiding but he did cover his eyes and count. 1...3...5...6...Found You!

We had a busy day!  We went to story hour then came home and had speech. He didn't do great at story hour but did wonderful at speech.  Then the fireplace guy came with the WRONG part!  After our nap we met Aunt Amy to exchange some stuff. Then we visited my friend and her new baby. On the way home we stopped and played in the barn with grandpa!  Whew!  Oh and Tate was up pretty much most of the night crying last night so I am exhausted. 

Sad

Tate said "I Sad" after he stopped crying when we left his pal, Maggie Dog. He was super snuggly yesterday and today he was a goofball. He enjoyed peanut butter and ice cream today and also inhaled an entire mashed avocado in record speed. We love him so much!!

Sleep

Tate could not sleep last night. He was just too restless. I made the mistake of making paper airplanes after lunch so he was too excited for a nap today. He got super tired by late afternoon but I knew he would be up all night again if he had a late nap. So by 7:30 he was a crying mess and had to go to bed. 

Stud

Tate was looking pretty handsome for story hour today. He did so well when we got there. He told a girl hi and went and sat down like the other kids and was SUPER excited by the letter P when the teacher talked about it. He lost interest shortly after but did take his book that he found and sat back down by the other kids. 

Beautiful

We had perfect weather today!!  No wind at all and in the upper 60's. I met a friend for lunch and Brett ended up joining us. Tate was good for my mom. He told her "no no no night night" and refused to nap. We played outside from about 5:30-7:30, which included Brett helping me burn a big pile of dead weeds from my garden. 

Farm Life

Just another day on the farm...

Tate found a bucket to feed the calf just like we do to his stuffed cows at home. He also tried to feed him straw and then take the hose over to him. 

Proud mommy moment of the day:  we pray before each meal and Tate finally mimicked me and folded his hands in prayer and said AMEN!

Adventure

Tate and I went on an adventure yesterday to play with Maggie, my parents' new dog.  Tate was more interested in the loaner car and backhoe that were in the yard.  We had a little accident tonight where I dropped the sharp end of a toothpaste tube right on Tate's eye. He was pretty upset and it looked pretty red. I hope it will be fine tomorrow. 

Green

Another St. Patrick's Day is here.  I usually don't get Tate special clothes for holidays but thought he needed a shirt for today. He had no interest in getting his picture taken. My grandma was born on this day in 1918.  I miss her terribly, especially today. She sure thought it was special to have a St. Patrick's Day birthday.  

Tub

Tate said "Want out tub" today!

Bratwurst

Tate ate an entire bratwurst (cut up into pieces) and then decided he better give a whole one a try. He loved the "sausage" and asked for a fork and said "thank you momma" when I gave it to him! 

Busy

Busy day full of story hour, Long John Silvers, Walmart, Sunshine, a 5ish minute car nap that ruined a real nap, Grandma and Grandpa, and a runny nose!!

Mommy

This guy wanted Mommy all day!  Runny nose, diaper rash, no sleep....
