Happy Halloween

Today was a long day.  We had an appointment so back on the road we went.  We took Tate with us this time.  He did good but didn't nap well on the way back.  It is never fun when the nurse can't get things to work so she has to call in a second one.  No pain no gain!!  Tate did not want much to do with trick or treating.  We stopped at 4 houses and each time he just wanted to stay outside and play.  Country trick or treating is great.  Our neighbors spoil Tate with gobs of candy and toys and they tried to give us beer and pop.  It feels a little strange to take my son to the same places I used to trick or treat as a kid.  His friend stopped by before bed.  He was the cutest little cow!!

Fall Fun

Fall is my favorite time of year!!  We always grew pumpkins in our garden and would carve some every year.  We even listened to a cassette of scary sounds while we were carving.  Those were the days! 

I think my pumpkin turned out well.  Tate was less than thrilled.  He thought playing with cars was more exciting than pumpkin carving.  When I walk by the pumpkin I can just hear Bob Ross saying, "It's a happy little pumpkin." 

Trick Or Treat

Our story hour group went trick or treating around town yesterday.  All the kids were so cute.  It is a shame that Tate got 2 packages of gummy bears that he can't eat!  :)

Silly Boy

Tate got stuck!  

His new favorite place to place to play is under his bed.

Finally, we had such a fun evening. For some crazy reason I started RAPPING the words to Tate's favorite bedtime story while we were all playing in the basement. Tate LOVED it!  I am glad I can have all kinds of crazy fun and my hubby joins right in instead of looking at me like I am crazy!  

Road Trip

I had a doctor appointment this morning at 9:00 which meant we pulled out of the driveway at 6:30. Way too early!  We spent the rest of the day with my brother and sister-in-law.  Tate did well traveling and liked to play in the baby's room.  I made Willie a new dog bed and he loved it. Thanks Pinterest!

Grandpa

Grandpa ended up over at our house for farm related stuff but he made sure to take a Tate break. 

Basket

Toy baskets are more fun with little boys in them.

Helping Dad

Tate likes to help his dad!  We are pretty impressed with his pencil holding skills.

Pumpkin Patch

My parents went with us to the pumpkin patch on Sunday.  It was a beautiful fall day.  Tate loved running through the trees.  He also enjoyed riding the train.

Love

I love days like today. Tate went back to bed after some early morning milk. Brett was in and out of the house. Tate napped very well. The weather was beautiful!  

Puh-kees

Tate really likes puh-kees (pumpkins). He got a card in the mail from his grandma and grandpa that has pumpkins on it. He giggles when he looks at it. 

I have a 17 month old today. I can't believe how fast time goes. He really likes saying "achoo" to get attention.

 

Old Friend

I met one of my friends at the mall today. She lives in another state so I don't see her often. She was here for her brother's wedding. Tate enjoyed playing with her son. I am grateful for her friendship. She helped me get through the terrible junior high years. 

I got home and Brett had done the dishes and swept and mopped the floors!  YES!

Daddy Day

Tate got to spend all day with Brett because I had to go to the doctor. Tate woke up at 4 and fussed and fussed. Brett switched me a little after 5. I was wide awake and had a tough time going back to sleep. I was SLEEPY on the 2 hour drive. Coffee and an Egg McMuffin saved the day. It snowed here today and my drive (to and from) was full of sleet and rain.  I got to eat lunch with my brother and sister-in-law and did a little bit of shopping.  I sure missed my boys all day though!
