Teeth
Tate tripped and hit his bottom teeth in the coffee table last night. One tooth got moved out of place but was not loose. The dentist wanted to check it out. The tooth will most likely turn gray. His gums were bruised and we have to keep an eye out for an abscess. Tate did GREAT while the dentist looked at his teeth. We killed the rest of the morning by going to Walmart and watching the fish and getting McDonald's. Tate napped without me laying with him while he fell asleep. Tonight we only had to put him back in bed once.

Bubbles
We made colored bubbles in the sink to change things up since we were stuck inside due to the weather.
We finally caved. Brett and I finally got tired enough to make Tate fall asleep on his own. It wasn't fun at all. Tate tried everything to get mommy to snuggle him. :(. He said mommy lay Thomas, meaning lay on the Thomas pillow next to him. Next trip back to bed was a request to sit in chair. Then he tried to escape and get rocked in the living room. Next he started making laps around his bed. He came out quietly one last time and let me tuck him back in. I cried! It is so hard knowing your baby just wants to be comforted. Hopefully this stops his night waking, which is always 2 or 3 times a night.
Oh and also on the topic of bubbles, Tate discovered his body could make bubbles in the tub. He tried and tried to make more and thankfully we didn't end up with a mess in the tub! Boys will be boys I suppose!

Grandpa's Birthday
We celebrated grandpa's birthday last night. Tate actually spent the whole day over there while Brett and I went on a lunch date and I got a haircut. He liked blowing out the candles on the cake. When we went home I asked if he had fun. He said "had fun with grandpa. Played trucks with grandpa."

Anniversary
Today is our 5th wedding anniversary! Brett just completes me and I would be totally lost in life without him! I could not ask for a better partner and he helps me cope with all of the infertility and autism issues in our life. I have really enjoyed watching him blossom as a dad over the past year. There is nothing better than seeing my two boys laugh and play together.
We went to the school carnival tonight. It was a disaster of epic proportions. Tate absolutely did not understand the concept of waiting in line. We left right away and put all our tickets into the little raffle. Tate won a Shrek doll. We did, however, have a wonderful evening at the park.

Daycare
Tate survived his first morning at daycare. He didn't even miss me. I felt a little lost without him. He has basically been like an extra appendage for the last 2 years. He enjoyed getting out some baby things for Owen to use when he visits next month. We made sugar cookies just for Brett and someone kept putting more frosting in his/her mouth than on the cookies. Can you guess who that was?

Knee Pads
Tate got into the feminine hygiene product drawer. Brett showed him how to make knee pads. Boy did Tate think that was great. He also likes to tickle himself with his toothbrush. He was a wild man at story hour. Oh, and he decided to play with the iPad in the bathtub and eat a slice of bread for a snack. Silly boy!!

Kiss
Me: Do you want mommy to kiss daddy?
Tate: Mommy kiss Tate
He was a singing machine this evening. "Ride, ride, ride on the dinosaur train."
"Twinkle little star...random sounds...are"
Easter wore him out. He slept until 5:30 then went back to sleep until 7:45. He napped from 1-4:20.

Basket
Tate got a surprise Easter basket from my aunt this morning. He had chocolate bunnies for breakfast. He is turning into a crabby, teething beast.

Story Hour
Story Hour was exciting today! We dyed eggs with shaving cream and food coloring. Then the Easter Bunny made a brief appearance. Tate liked him but did not want to stand with the rest of the kids for the picture. We finished with an egg hunt!! We left with the best treats, a balloon and a sucker! Tate ate the sucker one lick at a time.

Prep
We did some Easter prep today. Easter is by far my favorite holiday!
We also visited Tate's daycare provider. He will be staying with her about 6 hours a week. There are 3 other kids there his age so I am hoping it helps him pick up on social cues. I am feeling very anxious about being away from him so much. He has pretty much been with me all day, everyday for the last 2 years aside from leaving him occasionally for an appointment or a haircut.

Train Ride
We went on adventure to do a little shopping and get groceries. Brett and Grandpa Roy met us at Dairy Queen for lunch. We had to kill a little time before they arrived so Tate rode the train at the grocery store...about 6 times. He had fun! We also made nests!

Great day!
Today was fun!
To update: Tate knows pretty much any animal sound there is. I have been working on trying to get him to say the animal if I make the sound but haven't had much success.
Tate is starting to count. It is never the same numbers but several always make it out. There is usually a 5 6 7...
He will say P on when you sing the alphabet. He tries to sing the rest but the other letters come out as just noise.
He will fold his hands in prayer and say AMEN!
He recognizes the color pink and knows some other color names but can't match them yet.
Tate picked up a stick and said he was going fishing!

Builder
Tate loves his bathtub shapes. I showed him how to build a few things but he is figuring it out on his own now. His own imagination helped him build a tractor and a police car!

Outside
We had such a great time outside enjoying this beautiful day. I tried to water the bushes but my hose kept getting high jacked. Tate washed his truck.
My friend brought us doughnuts this morning. Tate really enjoyed her baby girl.
Happy birthday Amy!!
