Sleep

Tate slept all night last night and he was extra tired this morning. He had a good day at school and even went potty twice! I had a lot of pressure today. I went to Walmart this morning and it wore me out!

Eek

I lost my mucus plug today. The nurse said it doesn't really mean a whole lot and to continue just as I was. Tate went potty twice at daycare today!  He forgot to take a break this evening while he was outside so he had an accident. He has become very afraid of the dark so tonight we left the hall light on for him. 

Success

Today we tried potty training with just loose shorts and no underwear and Tate did great. He only had one accident and it was right after I put the shorts on and he didn't get them down in time. He even got mad when I put a pull up on him at nap time.  He played outside after supper and didn't wet his pants then either. Brett was trying to teach him how to pee on a tree and Tate was so frustrated because he didn't have to go. I think I ate too much salt today because my feet were bigger than ever. Brett thinks my belly is dropping. 

Doll

Tate took very good care of his baby today. She got many diaper changes, took a nap in the crib, got swaddled and ate spaghetti. She is currently in bed with Tate. 

Tate calls crocs alligator shoes!

Creepy

The boys went on a little adventure and ended up at the cemetery. Tate walked right up to my great-grandparents' stone and said, "That's my grandma."  I suppose we told him that at one point in time and he remembered.  He doesn't forget anything. I am really feeling terrible. I have nausea again and my hips and back are killing me. 

Poop

I had an appointment and sonogram today. The babies measured over 5 lbs. each. I go back in two weeks. Tate stayed at grandma's and had quite a time. She said she put some potatoes in a hot pan and it sizzled. Tate yelled FIRE and got his firetruck. When we got there, Tate started taking a pretend bath in the bathtub. We left him alone so we could pick up toys. When Brett checked on him again he was trying to clean the toilet with the toilet brush. He apparently got out of the tub, pulled down his pants and pull-up, climbed on grandma's toilet, pooped, and pulled up his pants and pull-up.  He missed the toilet though so there was poop everywhere, especially all over Tate.  I am still pretty proud of him!!

34

I made it to 34 weeks!!  Babies born after this typically do not have long term issues from being born early. Also, I get to deliver with my regular OB now!  Tate had a good day. He was so excited to go back to school and got an excellent report. My mom went with us today so she knows where to take Tate while I am busy with the babies. 

Tired

Tate is having such a tough time sleeping again. He has been up for several hours the last few nights. He was tired today but happy to get out of the house and go to daycare after spring break. He is quickly losing interest in underwear and just wants to wear pull-ups.  My feet are so swollen tonight that they actually hurt. 

Potty

Tate would not take a nap today. I left him in his room for some quiet time and he started yelling that he had a stinky diaper. I went in to change it and he was naked from the waist down and did not want a new diaper. So, at 33 weeks pregnant with twins I guess we are going to work on potty training. I decided to try hot wheels cars as a reward since nothing else seems to motivate him for long. He caught on very quickly and was running to the potty every couple of minutes. He only had one accident all afternoon.  My mom gave me her grabber today and Tate used it to try to get to the bag of cars in the bathroom. 

Sandbox

Brett made a sandbox for Tate out of a tire. Tate noticed that it was full of sand today so we had to go play outside right after lunch. He really liked it!  I ran inside to go to the bathroom and when I got back Tate was in an old outbuilding. He yelled at me to go away because he was pooping in his dream home. Then he had to go get Duke because he wanted the dog in his dream home. He is too funny. I better give some recognition to my awesome husband. He is working long days and checking cattle every night at 3 AM yet he also helps us out at home. Today he was vacuuming over lunch and he always plays with Tate right away when he gets home so I can put my feet up. Without his help I would not make it at all!!

Off

Tate had an off day today. He woke up crying and was upset about everything all day. We really had a battle at nap time. He needed extra snuggles this morning and more again after his nap. 

Date

Today was Mommy and Tate Day!  We had so much fun on our last extra special day before the babies arrive. We went to town to play with the imagination playground blocks.  Then we went to McDonald's (Old McDonald's according to Tate) and got a hot wheels happy meal. We finished our date with a trip to Walmart where Tate found a shirt that he just had to have. He also got to pick out a sprinkle doughnut and a doughnut to bring home to daddy. As always, he was also entertained by the fish. He took a good nap and got to visit the calves this evening. 

Helper

Tate was my helper today!  He helped me slice up strawberries. I couldn't get him to try one but he enjoyed feeding them to Brett and I. He also brought me a baby name book while I was laying in bed after my shower. He said it would make the babies feel better. Have I mentioned that I am swelling?  My shower really puffs up my feet so I have to lay down and rest when I am done. Baby B was trying to escape this evening.  It is hard to get a good picture of the bulge in my belly but I can feel the roundness of the head. 

Fishing

Brett and Tate went fishing with grandma and grandpa this evening. I stayed home since it is too bumpy to ride in the pickup through the pasture. Tate had fun even though he didn't catch a fish. 

Bag

I started packing my bag for the hospital today. Eek!  I am getting nervous!!  I keep praying that the babies stay put for another month or so!

Rest

Today was glorious for me!  I got a pedicure while Tate was at preschool. It actually wasn't all that pleasant since sitting in the chair hurt my tailbone but the massage part made it all worth it. My housekeeper started today too do I got to come home to a clean house. I fell asleep for two hours while Tate napped!  Tate was a riot today!  I had a package get delivered to my parents' house and my dad brought it over the other day. It had a couple shirts in it for Tate so he was super excited to wear his shirt from grandpa to school today. This evening he found his old pizza shirt and pretended to eat it!

Wound Up

Tate was wound up this afternoon so I couldn't get him to take a nap. He played really hard outside and by 7:30 he was having a major meltdown about his bath. He fell asleep naked in my arms and when we dressed him he had another meltdown. It was a very stressful evening.   He was pretty proud of his new fashion statements!

Farm

We took advantage of the nice weather and played outside all afternoon. We tried to check cattle but after driving a few feet into the pasture it felt like the bumpy ride was going to send me straight into labor so we settled for petting the calves in the barn. Tate said he loved the calves. He played on all the equipment sitting in the yard. I sat a lot!  

 

Birthday

Today was Owen's first birthday party. My parents, Brett and Tate all went together in the new van. I stayed home. It was just too far for me to travel. Tate did pretty good!  He made the crew eat at Wendy's twice.  It was the first really warm day we have had in a while. My feet did not like it one bit. They swelled so much it hurt to wear my sandals. 

Rocket

Tate was pretending the laundry basket was a rocket ship this morning. 1...2...takeoff!!  The boys took advantage of the nice weather and played outside this evening. At bedtime Tate had a terrible meltdown. It was rough for us all. 

Twins

A cow had a set of twin girls today and the guys started calling her Tracey. Brett said they had a total of 20 calves today. I didn't feel well all of today.  Tate went back to school. 

Ornery

Tate slept in until 9 today and was ornery all day. We visited grandma and grandpa and Tate sang them the ABC song and took a bow when he was finished. This afternoon we did stamps and Tate had to keep trying to see if he could get by with stamping his face. Today is Owen's first birthday. The year went by quickly!!

Lungs

Tate had to get his lungs checked today. The doctor said he was sounding much better. The doctor also said my cough was still most likely viral. Tate was knocking on the castle door and then said that there are no man parts in there. I am not sure what he was thinking. He has been very independent lately. He likes to go into the bathroom and put toothpaste on his toothbrush and brush his teeth. He also likes to pull his pants up and down. 

Glow

Tate had a glow bath with a glow stick!  

Grump

Tate was a grump today. He came out if his room this morning acting like he had something on his hand. I asked him what it was and he said poop. He was correct!  He started the day with a diaper explosion and a bath which was not what he wanted to be doing. He didn't play very much today. I had a fever again.
