Swimming

The summer temperatures are here.  Tate got to use his pool yesterday.  He thought it was pretty fun although he ended up just playing in the dog water before we went inside.  The pictures with the sippy cup make me happy.  Tate was just all cuddled up to it!  We went to the city pool today and played with one of Tate's friends.  The baby pool is free!  It was too deep for Tate to crawl around in it which was pretty much what he wanted to do.  We will have to try out the big pool next time!

Family Reunion

We made a quick trip to Jennings yesterday for Brett's family reunion.  They opened up the museum for us.  We also went to visit Grandma Maxine.  Tate did not do well on the way home.  He cried and screamed instead of slept like we had hoped.

Morning Snuggle

It takes Tate a while to wake up in the morning so we start each day with a snuggle.  I LOVE IT!  I am so thankful that I don't have anywhere to be each day so our mornings are not rushed and allow time for this!

Brett and I were greeters tonight at church.  This was the first time we tried it with Tate.  Tate cried each time I opened the door for someone since we didn't get to go out and play.  Then I tried to give him to my mom but he could see me so he was still mad.  We ended up spending most of mass in the cry room/back of church since Tate was ADAMANT he get down and crawl.  By the end of mass there were 3 other babies who had made an appearance in the back.  It rained while we were at church and ended up with a little over a half inch while we were gone.

These are the days...

Brett and I keep talking about how these are going to be some of the best days of our lives.  There is not much better than beautiful weather and baby giggles!  I love my little family of 3 and the joy that it brings to my heart.

Today Tate and I met my friend for lunch.  Then we went and got a few groceries and headed home.  I tried to clean out the car but I could not keep Tate in one spot long enough to get anything accomplished.  I'll add that chore to the growing list of things that are impossible to do with a 1 year old around.  He was practicing saying hat, hot, and cat today.  This evening he was walking around saying hot cat, hot cat, hot cat...or that is what it sounded like! 

Steeple

We had another great day!  The weather was beautiful!  We had a play date with Tate's friends this morning.  Tate was a bully and made 2 of them cry.  He also wanted to drink out of everyone's sippy cups even though I can't get him to drink very well out of his at home.

This afternoon we walked down to the church.  They are putting new shingles on the steeple.  It is fun watching them work.  The neighbor's cows were along the fence again today.  They like to come say hello if they are close.  Tate loves it!  We went out to eat at the local bar/grill and Tate was a major flirt! 

I love my peaceful prairie!  Here is a glimpse of my view today, from the south, north, west, and east of where I was standing!  BEAUTIFUL!

Towel Monster

Tate just loves playing with towels.  He likes to crawl around with them on his head.  We got over 2 inches of rain last night!!  On our walk today the neighbor's cows followed us down the fence line.  What fun! BOOOO!  (Tate speak for MOO!)

LIFE IS GOOD

What could be better than a beautiful day spent outside with my little man?  (He wouldn't stay in his baby pool but loved "swimming" in the water dish.)
