Cry
Today has been a day. I had to wait almost an hour to be seen by the eye doctor. Tate woke up about 30 minutes into his nap and was hysterical. He would not calm down. He would say he wanted to sit in the chair but once we got in the chair he would say he wanted to go to bed and storm off into his room and slam his door and lay on his bed and cry. These crying fits went on all afternoon. I had a parish council meeting and Tate got upset when I had to leave. I got to town only to find out that the nun forgot about the meeting so it got rescheduled for next week. Tate said he was tired and wanted to go to sleep when I got home so we skipped the shower and put him straight to bed. I have a stuffy nose and sore throat.

Wheat
We finished up cutting wheat today aside from mud holes. Tate and I rode on the combine. He ended up running a low fever while we were out there. That explains why he has slept a little better and was snuggly this afternoon.

Fun
I went on a 2 hour road trip to meet my friend and her husband for lunch. It was so much fun to see them both! My mom watched Tate for me. He ate well and took a 3 hour nap for her. A little while after I got back this went down:
Tate-I'm sad
Me-Why are you sad
Tate-want my daddy
I finally remembered to get a stamp pad today so we could play with my mom's old stamps. Tate loves them

Fireworks
Tate did well with fireworks this year. I took his tricycle with us to give him something to do. For the most part he listened very well.

Today
Today we played outside all morning. Somehow I even convinced Tate to go for a ride in the bike trailer. I bit off more than I could handle and got quite the workout just trying to make it home against the wind. We also played with Legos a lot. I cooked up a storm in preparation of Chris/Anne/Owen visiting and the next few days of harvest.
Tate had a tough time going to sleep tonight. I put him back in his bed and told him to go to sleep. He immediately pretended to snore.
Some fabulous fireworks artwork.

Park
Tate and I went to town with my mom to help set up tables and chairs for a funeral dinner. My dad's cousin passed away unexpectedly. We stopped by the park before we went home. This afternoon we played with big kid Legos. Tate loves them. He couldn't put them together or anything but he was extremely fascinated by all of the pieces and liked all of the cars and planes I made for him. He also loved the snake in a pop up book we read for the first time.
