A Mother's Love
My college roommate recently had her first child and he weighed in at 1 lb. 9 oz. My heart hurts so badly for her and her baby. I CANNOT imagine how it must feel to be in her shoes. I know what a joy it was welcoming my own son into this world. That moment I first heard him cry and then laid eyes on him is forever etched into my brain! Right at that second my whole life changed. So did my roommate's only now hers is filled with hospitals and doctors. I can't imagine spending each day looking at such a tiny body as it struggles and fights to stay alive. Many times when Tate smiles or coos my thoughts go to my friend, wondering if she will get the same experiences.
It is impossible to explain the feeling that comes with being a mother. I feel overwhelmingly in love with my chubby boy! We don't have to look far to realize how blessed we truly are.

What a Year!
It has been exactly one year since we found out I was pregnant. We tried and tried and prayed and prayed and our dream of being parents would not become a reality. Just weeks after my specialist told us our chance of getting pregnant was very low I was feeling strange and decided to take a test. Right before my eyes was that magical 2nd line I had been dreaming of seeing for so long! I thought perhaps my eyes were playing tricks on me so I had to recruit Brett's help. He confirmed that while the 2nd line was very faint it was indeed actually there! My little man is a blessing and I love him more than I ever knew possible!
Infertility is hard to handle, especially when you know why you can't get pregnant and it is because of problems with your own body! I wanted nothing more than to be able to give Brett a baby. Those feelings of sadness, confusion, and anger are now filled with overwhelming joy! Yes, I know how lucky we were and am so thankful to the Lord for answering our prayers! Endometriosis did not defeat me!

Shots
Today was Tate's 4 month checkup and shots. He is going through a phase where he doesn't like strangers so when the doctor started touching him he was not thrilled. He eventually warmed up to her. He weighed 17 lbs 12 oz and was 26 inches long. The shots were last and he had to drink the first one. This made him scream and then came the needles which made him scream even louder. He would not calm down so we strapped him in and off we went. Brett decided I did well enough with the shots that I earned a treat so we stopped at Sonic. The little guy is chattering and playing so the shots must not have been too bad!

Here We Go Again!
I have been wanting to start on the blog again since we had Tate and actually have something interesting going on in life. So here it is and hopefully I will keep it up this time around!
Brett is busy planting wheat and I am busy with Tate! We are so much in love with him!

Back To School!
I went back to work Aug. 2 and have been super busy getting ready for a new year. This will be our first year as a consolidated school district and our last year in the elementary school at Claflin. We get kids on Wednesday and I'm pretty excited to see them. They are by far the best part of my job! Brett has been busy on the farm. His allergies are starting to bother him already. Poor guy! We are going to 2 picnics today - church picnic for lunch and a back to school picnic for dinner.
