Epiphany

We celebrated the Epiphany last night in church, which means Christmas season is coming to a close. My mom and grandma had the same beautiful nativity sets as I was growing up. I was lucky enough to get my grandma's after she passed away. It is now chipped and worn but that makes it even more special to me. Tate got a very special gift from Grandpa Mike and Grandma Joan for Christmas. He got a Fisher Price nativity set. Now Tate has his very own nativity which I hope will provide him with special Christmas memories and help him to understand the true meaning of Christmas! Jesus is the reason for the season!

Mum Mum

Tate really likes to feed himself but hasn't quite mastered small foods like Cheerios or slippery foods like bananas. He does well with crackers and rice rusks called Baby Mum Mum. (The name cracks me up!)

KSU Wildcats

We had so much fun wearing our purple yesterday even though the Wildcats lost to the Oregon Ducks in the Fiesta Bowl. The fun started on Wednesday night when Tate got to wear his favorite pair of KSU pajamas. He woke up in PURPLE, ready for gameday and had cut his very first tooth! What an exciting day! He got dressed for the day in more PURPLE! We went to the doctor to get caught up on shots and since he had a slight cough he had to get examined first. Luckily, Brett was able to come with us! Everyone in the office noticed our Wildcat family. Tate cried hard after his shots but soon enough he had calmed down. We ran our errands in town and since I didn't cry when Tate got his shots, I got to go out for ice cream! Tate got put in another pair of KSU pajamas so he could wear his purple during the game. He was sound asleep just in time for kick off. We still love our cats no matter what!

Loyal to thee thy children will swell the cry!!

Sorry for so many pics, I just loved them all!

A Very Special Day

Tate got a new shirt for Christmas from Grandma Joan that said "Grandma & Me" on it. I put Tate in it yesterday since he was going to spend the day with Grandma Susan while I went shopping in Salina. My shopping trip went well and Tate was so good for Grandma Susan. Grandpa Roy had some fun with him too! He showed off all of his tricks and was a happy little boy! I picked the best day for Tate to wear his new shirt because we had some surprise visitors! Grandpa Mike and Grandma Joan stopped by with supper! Tate got to see all of his grandparents yesterday! My heart is filled with joy. My baby is so loved!!
No pictures with Grandpa Roy and Grandma Susan. :(

A Special Breed

As I was digging a mushy, half-eaten cracker out from the side of the high chair Brett made the comment that "Moms are a special breed." Yes, it seems like moms are not phased by barf, poop, snot, or any other undesirable baby substance. Can't say the same for the dads!

Tate loves to suck on pickles!

2013!

We had a great New Year's Eve! The snow forced us to stay in but we made the best of it. Tate was in bed by 7:30 and Brett and I played some Monopoly Deal and were in bed by 10:00. Here are some pics from Tate's very first day of 2013!
