Days

Today was a day to cherish.  Tate and I attempted to make a homemade piƱata. I hope it works but we still had fun even if it doesn't.  I grilled burgers for lunch and Tate asked if we could eat outside so we did. We played with balloons and it was so much fun to watch them blow away and see Tate chase them. The girls napped through lunch so it was fun to just enjoy the nice day with Tate.  He is such an awesome guy and I am really enjoying him so much right now. As we were brushing our teeth tonight we discovered some chewed up meat in the bathroom trash. Tate is apparently smarter than us because we had no clue he did that.  The last two pictures are from the other day.

Tired

We visited Mike and Joan yesterday and got home late. We drove through hail so it was a very stressful trip home. Today I had to get my tire patched, sign some paperwork, and do a little shopping. The girls had a morning of sitting in the stroller but they handled it pretty well. A lady thought she was being very helpful while I was doing paperwork got in Audrey's face to entertain her. Audrey started crying. This afternoon Tate and I made a birdhouse because Tate asked if we could make something out of wood. It was a cheap kit that I found but we both had fun. He did a good job painting and giggled and called himself an artist. We had a water balloon fight after supper. It wasn't super warm but it turned into mom vs. boys so I had to endure a lot of cold water!

Busy

Tate had a busy day. He went fishing with grandpa this morning. He had a meltdown when he got home. I think he was tired and hungry and didn't want to stop fishing. I discovered the third worst parenting feeling today. (Maybe it would have been worst feeling ever but I knew Brett would be home in the next ten minutes.)
1. Kid has injury/illness
2.  Other kids are mean to your kid
3. Kid locks you in the bedroom that you switched the lock around on the door and you don't have your phone

After some serious threats Tate showed up pretty quickly and let me out. Ellie was in her crib and Audrey was with me so I at least knew they were safe.

We went to a birthday party tonight and Tate did great. He played so well with the other kids.

Stinkers

Audrey made getting groceries so much fun. She kept pulling on Ellie's ponytail.  We went out it eat to celebrate my dad's birthday. Everyone did great considering it was hot and our food took a long time. Tate complained that his tummy hurt when we got home. It didn't even want milk and asked to go to sleep while we were reading a book.

Climber

Ellie figured out that if she opened the coffee table drawer and crawled into it then she could crawl onto the table. She is a monkey. She reminds me a lot of Tate. She tries to pull everything off of the kitchen table or countertops. Audrey had a low fever today. She is working on another top tooth so I am not sure if it is just teething or if her ears are still infected. Tate had another great day. I am so glad he is finally back to himself. He was a good helper this morning then went to work with daddy after lunch and ended up helping grandpa move trees with the tractor for a few hours.

Circus

It is a circus around here. Ellie loves to climb everything but can't figure out how to get back down. She usually just walks right off of what she is on and lands on her face. Tonight we were outside and she climbed the steps to the door and just walked right off and dove onto the cement. I just can't be everywhere all at once. Tate is a huge mess. I am not sure what happened but he has reverted back into the boy who throws fits about nearly every single daily activity.  Audrey has started to get eczema (I think!) on her arms and legs.

Ear infection

Audrey has a double ear infection. She is really crabby. I am ready for everyone to be well again. Tate is still acting tired and grumpy. He woke up several times last night. Tonight we read a page in his book and he was excited because he was certain we would still love him even if he doesn't eat vegetables. It is true but he still needs to eat them.
